Design
Design-wise, iPhone 17 will look the same as iPhone 16. The aluminum and glass combo remains the same as well. Thickness is 7.8 mm, which is a lot compared to the 5.5 mm iPhone Air.
Display
The iPhone 17 will feature a new 6.3-inch OLED display. Finally, a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz may rock this new OLED display. Interestingly, there will be no Always-on-Display support even though the display panel is going to be OLED. However, a crispy, fancy display is better while consuming YouTube or Netflix videos in 4K.
Shooters
The primary shooter will be a 48-MP Fusion cam, which is the same as the iPhone 16e. Apart from that, a 12-MP ultra-wide cam with digital optical zoom will be there with all the new camera features. However, it is not clear if the iPhone 17 will come with variable aperture.
For the entire iPhone 17 series, the selfie camera is getting an upgrade from 12 MP to 24 MP. This new sensor will offer better color accuracy and improved low-light photography, per iPhone 17 leaks.
Hardware & Software
Unlike other iPhone 17 models, only the iPhone 17 is getting the Apple A19 SoC. Also, there will be an 8 GB RAM, unlike the 12 GB RAMs on the rest of the lineup. However, Apple Intelligence compatibility will be the same across the series. Apple will also integrate the in-house C1 modem across the series.
Battery Life
The 3,600 mAh battery capacity will give a few more hours of screen time on the iPhone 17. The 25W MagSafe charging will allow quick recharging whenever needed. For average users, this should last a day.
Release Date & Price
The iPhone 17 series will be announced by Apple on September 9th, 2025. The base model iPhone 17, with 128 GB of storage, will cost $799. There will be several color options to choose from — Black, White, Green, Purple, Steel Gray, and Light Blue. According to Inc42, Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn has officially begun small-scale production of the iPhone 17 at its Bengaluru plant, alongside its existing facility in Chennai and other locations.

The iPhone 17 leaks suggest this is targeted at people who are less into tech. But, needs something powerful to keep pace with the tech world. If you are a student or an older person, iPhone 17 is your go-to. You are into phone calls and video calls, get this one.
