To cut to the chase, Stranger Things Season 5 will roll out in November. And, the story will move faster than the previous seasons. Creator and showrunner, Matt Duffer, stated that “I don’t know if it’s going to go 100 miles an hour at the beginning of [season] 5, but it’s going to move pretty fast.” Season 5’s production started back in January 08, 2024. However, this season has taken a long time to be aired as each episode will be cast in movie-length format.

However, Eduardo Franco (Argyle), who joined the crew later in season 4, will not be returning for Season 5. Several other important roles will be in season 5. For example, Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna, AKA One, AKA Henry Creel. Cara Buono will play Karen Wheeler. Amybeth McNulty will appear as Vickie. And, Linda Hamilton, the newcomer, will play the role of Dr. Kay.
What to Expect
It is quite clear that the final battle was not in Season 4, but now. Even though Nancy, Steve, and Robin lit Vecna on fire, his body was not found at the Creel House. Eleven reviving Max, though her temporary death, was Vecna’s plan to open all the gates of the Upside Down and take over the world.
Vecna will use one of the Hawkins heroes to make his way to this world, assuming Will felt something in his neck again at the end of season 4. Eleven’s lost memory has a purpose. To take out Henry Creel, Eleven has to use all her psychic power and abilities. Such a dangerous and confusing plot will not end in happiness. Regarding this, in an interview, David Harbour (Jim Hopper) shared that the ending will be bittersweet. Will El die at the end?
Where We Left
Season 4 has given the audience clarification about the strange things happening in Hawkins. Vecna got defeated in Season 4; however, he was not dead. After the battle, all the gates to the Upside Down world were opened, followed by earthquakes. People started to leave Hawkins after the disaster.
The heroes of Hawkins were in a traumatic situation. Max was in a coma, and El was not able to remember anything from the past. The kids gathered at Hopper’s cabin. Will felt something in his neck again. The Upside Down world appeared to be blending with ours. Vines were making their way through the rifts created due to the earthquakes. Thunderstorms appeared. The Upside Down dust was falling from the sky.
Context
Dr. Martin Brenner, AKA “Papa” to the special children, was experimenting. Eleven, one of the special kids, was the experimental subject. While testing the psychic power, Eleven accidentally opened the gate to the Upside Down. And, it has been 4 years in the world of “Stranger Things,” a Demogorgon escaped from the cursed world. Since then, several monsters have started to make their way into this world.
Vecna, AKA One, AKA Henry Creel — the powerful creature from the Upside Down — used to work with Dr. Martin Brenner. He was the first special kid who went rogue. He believed that humanity needed to be wiped out due to its corruption and weakness. One tried to persuade Eleven to continue with this evil plan. By the time Eleven understood everything, Henry Creel had killed the other special kids and committed a massacre at the secured lab of Hawkins. Eleven, with her immense psychic power and emotion, was able to banish Henry Creel to the cursed world.
Wrapping Up
Stranger Things Season 5 is going to be full of suspense and emotion. The story will reveal a lot of Hawkins’ secrets moving forward. Some will die and some will come back to their normal life. However, will Hawkins become colorful again? Stay tuned for more leaks about season 5.
