Spotify finally added support for music videos, announced on March 13, 2024. The company mentioned that the feature is exclusive to the Premium users and only has a “limited catalog” for now. Apart from Android and iOS devices, Spotify’s video feature is also available on PCs and TVs. However, that too, needs a Premium subscription.
Supported Regions
Currently, Spotify’s video songs are available for selective artists, such as Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, Aluna, and Asake. Supported regions are the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya.
Sten Garmark, Spotify’s Global Head of Consumer Experience, has said that within a short time, “thousands” of video songs will be available on Spotify. However, it is still to be determined if non-Premium users can access those videos.
How to Access Spotify’s Video Song?
On supported tracks, there will be an option above the song title, “Switch to Video,” which will allow users to enjoy the music video of the song upon tapping. The video will start playing from the beginning. Users can switch back to audio by tapping on the “Switch to Audio” button.
